Colorado’s weather can be fickle to say the least.  One day it can be blowing and below freezing and the next, 60 degrees.  This past week was no exception.

We had a wonderful warm spring type day early in the week, and then WHAM, woke up the next morning and everything was coated in crusty frost.

Dolly, our giant, snooty llama is quite vain, and always looking to ham it up for the camera.

As is Angus, our black appaloosa who doesn’t have a single spot on him. I don’t know what it is about whipping out my camera that has all the animals wanting to have their pictures taken.

Shasta is usually not camera shy, but in this case, I did not have a treat to give her, and she is letting me know what she thinks about that!

After wandering around and taking pics of the frosty animals, I took the next few artistic shots.

You can see our “new vintage” windmill in the background.  We had a windmill in place when we moved in, but it was rickety, and went down in a huge windstorm a few years back.

This past summer, we had this one installed.  The windmill itself was built in 1957, and refurbished by the fellow who installed it for us.  I really do love the idea of having something on the property that is as old as I am, and not new and shiny ????

Until next time,

 Happy Trails
