We have been having a LOT of rain lately which is unusual for Colorado.  Late afternoon gully washers and hail storms have been rolling through regularly and while all this water has been great for our fields
which are growing like crazy, the downsides are the bad hair days from too much humidity, the mosquitoes, and the TOADS!

Now I have nothing against toads. They do not give you warts and if you kiss them they do not turn in to a prince. (Toad, Frog, whatever!) They generally keep to themselves, eat bugs and perform a croaky type of song.
What is very odd, is that after a rain, our window wells suddenly become home to about a dozen toads ranging in size from little tiny babies to big fat adults.  They stare in the window and pop up and down like popcorn kernels in the microwave.  I cannot figure out where they come from or where they go…one day they are there and the next they are not.
Is there such a thing as a Toad Bermuda Triangle….hmmmmm.

Until next time, Happy Trails!
